Philosophy
The Philosophy behind Heritage wines is based upon four major elements:
- • Best-in-Class vineyard cultivation, the care required for it, and production of wine from gathered grapes.
- • Making use of the old experience and winemaking secrets passed over three generations of wine making fathers.
- • Mastering the use of the state-of-the-art wine making technologies.
- • Passion and Enjoyment of Lebanon and Wine Production. We are a Lebanese wine making family and we love it.
Chateau Heritage, one of the oldest and most loved Lebanese wines has been on the market, both locally and internationally, since 1999.
About Château Héritage
De oorsprong van wijn
Most wine history books agree that there is no doubt wine was first made in the Middle East. Noah, Naboth, Christ, St. Paul, the great Roman Temple at Baalbeck, are all but few of the evidence that support this fact.
There are also theories that suggest that many red and white grape varieties were spread from present-day Lebanon to Europe by the Phoenicians. These grapes are believed to be the ancestors of many of the grape varieties we know today.
Van Touma tot Heritage
In 1888, the Touma family established one of Lebanon's first wineries and distilleries in the town of Kab-Elias in the Bekaa Valley. Here they produced wine and Arak Touma, Lebanon's national drink.
Building on their tradition, experience and success with Arak Touma, the Heritage Winery was established in 1997, where the first modern wines were launched.
Heritage vandaag
Heritage is a family wine that honours centuries-old wine traditions while utilising the most modern technologies for the production of varietal wines.
Heritage represents a new class of Lebanese wine, made from a unique selection of the finest grapes from the Bekaa Valley. It is the best representation of a true Lebanese wine.
