As artisanal methods blend with winemaking and historical knowledge to create a wine like no other, Latourba's singular vineyard offers visitors much more than just a way to quench their thirst; it brings the spirit of the earth to life, imparting flavor, texture, and a rich palette of colors, inviting everyone to return to the serene and warm embrace of nature.
All grapes come from Latourba's private vineyards on the slopes connecting Mount Lebanon with the West Bekaa Valley. Each plot of grapes is vinified separately to create a single variety of wine, expressing the unique “terroir” of Latourba.
With its most valuable residents, healthy grapes, Latourba takes pride in producing some of the finest red, rosé, and white wines; not to mention the region's first production of sparkling wine.
THE ISLAND ON THE LAKE
With breathtaking panoramic views that stir both your heart and imagination, Latourba Vineyard spans over 45 hectares of meticulously tended land, located along the banks of the Litani River in Saghbine. The vineyard, home to nineteen carefully selected grape varieties, is situated between 900 and 1000 meters above sea level, offering stunning views of the Qaraoun Dam in the Bekaa Valley.
A modern monument paying tribute to centuries of knowledge, tradition, and innovation, the soil of Latourba has witnessed it all. It is here that the Mesopotamians taught the Phoenicians everything they knew about wine, before the latter perfected it even further.
The history-rich terroir of Latourba harbors a heritage dating back to the Romans, who pioneered viticulture and winemaking here, known as ‘Pressoir des Romains’. This land, once a hub of Roman trade, later witnessed the strategic movements of the Ottoman Empire’s forces.
These gates, now welcoming you with open arms, are the same gates through which wine passed from East to West centuries ago. And just as the Sultans once rested in their shadow, you too can do so: leave your worries behind and return to one of nature's most fertile sanctuaries.
